In sports consistency is the true test of champions. Those that can defy the injuries, back ups, and father time to string together consecutive starts over years is a remarkable feat. Here is the most impressive consecutive games played by sports.
NFL
Brett Favre played in 297 straight games in 20 seasons without missing a game. What makes this record most impressive is that Favre was sacked a record number 525 times.
NBA
AC Green at 1,192 between 1986-2001 for 16 seasons
MLB
Cal Ripken Jr 2632 starts. Whats even more impressive he did it all with Baltimore.
NHL
Center Doug Jarvis was able to last 943 games straight. And mind you this was back in an NHL that showcased goons and bench clearing brawls.
I Scream, you scream, we all scream for our favorite team!
Cheering! The proper way to Scream!!
By Stats
How many games have you went to and cheered so loud that by the last few minutes of the game you were out of voice? How many times have your team been down by a few points with minutes remaining and you have no voice left to inspire them? Personally I’ve never come home from a game with my voice being as strong as before the game.
The problem is that the majority of fans don’t know how to use their voice. I remember the first Denver Broncos game I went to live. My wife (girlfriend at the time) got a hold of a pair of tickets and invited me to go. She is a singer and has a tremendously strong voice. It was so strong in fact that when the crowd was at its loudest her voice still shined through. I mean I was screaming at the top of my lungs and couldn’t hear my own voice. But through the wall of sound her voice shined through.
Why? Well it’s not just that her voice is strong but later the next day when my voice returned I asked her what was her secret. “I yell from the diaphragm and not my throat!” She responded. So today’s post is about the correct way to yell and save our voice. As a fan the most powerful tool we have is our voice. So protecting it is of the utmost importance. And this can be done by learning to cheer using your diaphragm instead of screaming from your throat.
Since I’m not an expert on the topic I found this article that explains how to scream in properly in 6 steps. http://www.wikihow.com/Scream-Sing-without-Damaging-Your-Voice
Practice this for a couple of weeks and you will soon be the loudest fan from the beginning until the final buzzer.

Did you see the interview http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympics-fourth-place-medal/first-time-olympian-rips-michael-phelps-ethic-163142038–oly.html from Tyler Clary a player hating dumb a$$ teammate swimmer of Micheal Phelps? After finishing in 2ND PLACE (who the f@#k remebers second place) to Michael Phelps, Clary aka dumb a$$ had the audacity to question Phelps training ethic. What? Its your first time getting to the Olympics and you question the training of the greatest Olympic athlete of all time? Clary said
“The fact that [Phelps] doesn’t have to work as hard to get that done, it’s a real shame. I think it’s too bad. You see that all too often, where you get athletes that are incredibly talented that really take it for granted. I think the things he could have done if he’d worked as hard as I do would have been even more incredible than what he has pulled off.”
Hater! Hater! Hater! Clary is clearly a dumb a$$ because what more could Phelps have done? He won gold in ALL of his races. If Phelps trained harder would his medals have been platinum? But we will see in a few weeks how weak his training is. My point is this Clary will more than likely not win more than a silver in any event. But lets say that Phelps wins nothing! Who gives a f@^k he’s still the baddest m.f. to jump into the pool! And at the end of the day he has the most hardware of any Olympian of all time.
My advice to Clary, stop hating and thinking that what you see is what is. You need to train harder so that you don’t finish second. You need to stop worshiping Phelps and admitting to the world that your 110% effort is better or excuse me second to Phelps lackadaisical effort. Get a life and stop trying to make America remember you when you have done nothing but finished in second to the greatest Olympian of all time! See its guys like Clary who got track day canceled! Guys like this that say its not fair because I worked harder so I deserve a ribbon also. Its attitudes like that the ends up making sure no one gets a ribbon. Kick A$$ Phelps!!!
